I'm a PhD student and I spend about ten hours a day in my chair, reading and writing and doing other work at my desk. This chair has improved my comfort level immensely. The chair materials are nice. Both the seat cushion and the armrests are a kind of mesh material laid over a foam pad. Already it has made a big difference in keeping my arms and butt from getting sweaty during long sessions at my desk.

The backrest itself is made of a very thin mesh material that seems comfortable and so-far durable. You'll especially like it if you tend to get a sweat back when sitting in a chair, since it breathes very well. It does have a little give, however. This has made me wonder if a heavier person (I weigh 170 pounds) might need something more substantial to provide proper support, but for most it's probably fine.

I absolutely love this LexMod Edge Office Chair with Black Mesh Back and Mesh Fabric Seat - waaaaay more than another ergonomic chair that I had previously ordered and that cost $130 more! The Focus chair is very good looking, very comfortable, has excellent back support and the arms work perfectly in allowing me to scoot up to the desk with no problem.

The LexMod Edge Office Chair seat cushion is made of comfortable material, and does provide decent cushioning, but given the state of my back, I will likely be adding a small pillow in the mix most days. I shopped around for a good "Herman Miller"-like chair for a while before deciding to take a shot on this one on Amazon, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.
