Expensive? No. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY!! Reviews Alera Ravino Big and Tall Series High-Back Swivel/Tilt Leather Chair

I've had this Alera Ravino Big and Tall Series High-Back chair for about a month and a half now, and being a heavy guy (almost 6'5" 296 pounds), I feel completely supported at every angle by this chair. It's sturdy assembly and comfortable contour are more than worth what I paid for the chair. I put it together myself in about 18 minutes with NO problems at all..
Alera Ravino Big & Tall High-Back Leather Chair. ... Model: RV44LS10C
Excellent buy overall and very sturdy... This is the most solid chair I've ever had and it sits nice and high so my feet are flat on the ground. Previously, I've always sat half indian style with my legs crossed, which has taken a toll on my ankles. This biggest problem I had was that I had to raise my desk to accomodate me sitting as high as I should.
  • Plush pillow-top seat and back for luxurious comfort
  • Open loop aluminum arms with padded armrests
  • Chrome-plated five-star base with nylon casters for easy mobility
It's worth noting that while the Alera Ravino chair is 'Big and Tall', it can be adjusted to a normal person's height - or even to a shorter person, if need be. This chair is really heavy, you won't flip it around easily. If you're not too strong, I recommend working with a partner. I needed someone to hold stuff or line things up a couple of times, so have someone on hand anyway.
  • The important thing to remember is to follow the instructions as they are listed, but do not torque (tighten) the bolts until after all parts are attached. Screw the bolts in only to the point that you can get one of your fingernails or a butter knife under the head of the bolt with ease.
  • Make sure all parts that are "bolted" to the chair (the base with wheels attached, the seat back & the arms) are attached before torquing the bolts (tightening bolts completely).
  •  If you forget the above rule and torque the bolts of the base and seat back, but then you find that the arms don't assemble with ease - NO PROBLEM!!!
  • Loosen the eight bolts that attach the base and the seat back to where you can easily slide your fingernail or a butterknife under the head of the bolt (in other words, don't take them off) - then attach the arms and torque them. Finally, re-torque the eight bolts that attach the base and the seat back.

" I'm 5'11", 240lbs and have had lower back problems (my reason for gettting a new chair). "Big Guy. I am avery large man (300 lb +)and I have always had trouble finding a deck chair that would last. I couldn't be happier with this chair! It's built like a tank and very comfortable even when sitting for hours. Then putting it together I found the parts were heavy grade steel and the bolts and screws looked like they were made to hold bridges together. If you want a well built chair that's comfortable too, by this chair! " By Dennis Sawyer
