My main objective was to find a chair which I can have for years without having it slowly deteriorate into garbage. I have chosen this Alera Fraze High-Back Swivel/Tilt Chair because of all the ratings it has on stability and the great look. Having used it for over half a year now, I can say that this was a good purchase.

 

I've now been sitting in it every workday for about 18 months, and its held up well. The Alera Fraze High-Back Swivel/Tilt Chair padding still feels like padding and no parts are loose. Except for a few minor scuffs of my own doing, it's in pretty much the same condition as it was when it was new.

Anyway for me this Alera Fraze chair is not just a good chair, it's a great chair! Not only was the price very reasonable, but I no longer have to fear for my life as the chair reclines to a moderate level and not to the point where one can be considered to be int the sleeping position.

My only complaint is that the chair won't force me to sit all the way up with an adjustment. But I'm not blaming the chair, they are all like that unless you are willing to spend $200 more. As far as it having any smell, mine has no smell at all. As far as the build quality, it's really built well and sturdy.

FYI: I'm 5' 11" and 215 L.B.s, yes I'm still on a diet, LOL, but I could easily see how this would be the chair of choice if your a larger or wider individual. I have a few inches on both sides of me as I sit and type this, which when I looked at the chair online made the chair look over-sized. It's not over-sized, but it also will not support your head, if that matters to as well.
